Equality Act Audits COVID-19 Policy

Equality Act Audits assist schools in identifying their most pressing accessibility issues across all areas covered by regulation and make clear recommendations on how to resolve these in a reasonable and cost-effective manner.

The UK is currently experiencing a public health emergency as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is critical that employers and employees take steps to keep everyone safe.

Equality Act Audits Limited has undertaken a risk assessment to address the risk of COVID-19 using the Government guidance to inform decisions and control measures. Equality Act Audits Limited understands that they have a duty to reduce risk to a reasonably practicable level by taking preventative measures.

The nature of business undertaken by Equality Act Audits Limited involves an on-site visit to a school. As per government guidelines, this can continue providing that the local area of the site is not in lock down and that appropriate measures are taken in order to keep the risk of COVID-19 to a minimum.

Control measures taken by Equality Act Audits Limited

  1. All employees work remotely and so there is no risk of infection.

  2. An auditor will not enter a site if they have displayed any symptoms of COVID-19 within the last 14 days or

have been in contact with anyone who has had, or displayed symptoms of, the virus within the last 14 days.

  3. When on site, our auditors will adhere to social distancing guidelines at all times, ensuring to keep a

minimum of 2 metres distance from other people.

  4. No stationery is shared.

  5. All paperwork is sent electronically.

  6. Upon arrival on site, auditors will wash their hands and carry hand gel with them at all times. Anything that

needs to be touched (i.e door handles) will be wiped with a disinfectant wipe afterwards.

  7. Face masks will be worn at all times.

  8. Auditors will comply with the COVID-19 policy of the school they are attending. If any additional equipment,

protective clothing or PPE is required, we will follow as directed.
